As per title really. 2.2 stamped on diff, is this lsd or open

As far as I know, the part number is stamped on the top of the diff, so you can't see it. You would know if you have an LSD fitted. Go out on a quiet wide road and put you footdown, if the back end fishtails, chances are you are on an open diff.

Erm a car can fishtail with an LSD, if not more so.....

Exactly what i said.

On an open diff only one wheel will end up spinning so the wheel with grip will stop it fishtailing as such left to right, if it does fishtail it would be a half arsed attempt.

With an LSD both wheels will spin together making the whole rear of the car completely mobile increasing the chances of the rear end swaying left to right whilst you try to straighten up, easier to control but less of a safety net.
