Hi, long shot here guys but has anyone any experience of running this setup?

I have already got n55 mids and have just ordered some Macht Shnell ceramic coated downpipes.

Reason for my purchase is I want the exhaust/car to sound roughly the same but louder. I love the sound but just want a bit more.

I have read varying reports on sound since my purchase and I'm a little concerned now.

I know it's very subjective

Opinions welcomed.

Are you aware of the y-pipe in the standard 1M mids at the rear that you've removed now by fitting the N55 mids?

Not sure how well known this is.

That's an easy source of noise.

So is that the same as n54 mids then as 1m has n54 engine

No the 1M mids are different from the n54 mids and they have different part numbers to suit.

The resonator at the rear on the 135i is replaced by the y pipe in the 1M mids.

Hi guys, sorry about the long reply. (Email notifications aren't coming through for some reason)

I am aware of the differences between the n54 mid, the 1m mid and the n55 mid.

I have photos of the differences if anyone is interested?

The difference between the two resonator sections is only 3 rings of tiny pin hole perforations to the inside of the pipe. The stock catted 1m mids are much more restrictive than the n55 mids.

I did toy with the idea of pairing the 'y' section from the 1m mids and the catless section from the n55 mids but after speaking to my mechanic we decided against it. The perforations must be there for a reason and he guessed to aid back pressure. The n55 mids are a great mod for the 1m.

Plus once installed they make the car sound even better.

I have these downpipes on order so just wanted to know if anyone is running a similar set up?
