Hi all, been a member for a while, but I must admit I was having too much fun driving my 130 to be on here enough ;)

I've got an 06 5-door M Sport and love it but i've had a fair few issues with it (water pump etc)

Couple of days ago, I left a friends house and heard some noise from the front left..I checked it out and saw nothing. Drove a couple of miles to see if brakes were sticking..suddenly my front left tyre exploded (i'm running 225/40/18 Michelin Super Sports all round), there's a gaping hole at the back of the tyre.

Fast forward to now, i've got the car jacked up and when I turn the wheel the suspension spring is also moving...so i've found the reason why the tyre exploded but what next?

Wondered if anyone has had the same issue?

Video below showing the problem..

Removed to due to OP spreading computer Viruses.

Thanks!
Alex

Alex. If it is a spring failure, it just happens, it doesn't give you any warning that is has taken too many fatigues cycles or that a particularly aggressive pothole (or was it a chasm ?) has finished it off. Also assuming no other damage, it shouldn't cost too much too fix. Maybe look at a Bilstein kit while you're at it ?

Nick, thanks a lot for the reply. There are a few chasms around the roads at the moment, do remember hitting one last week..maybe that was the final straw!? Will check the coil is the only issue and will consider some aftermarket kit's. Thanks for the suggestion!
