I bought this car in March 2022 from a friend who emigrated to Canada. The car was registered in September 07 and my friend took ownership from August 2008 until I bought it from him last year on 150k. It has been meticulously maintained by him with a large folder of invoices to back this up.
I took the car on with the intention of improving it for fast road use at the weekend and the odd track day. I have spent a small fortune on the car in the last year to bring it mechanically to where it is today.
Recent work and modifications at 151k miles include:
New Bilstein B14 Coilovers
New M3 control arms, suspension arms and drop links
Oil, cabin, air filters, Oil change and spark plugs
Gearbox oil change
Diff oil change
Alignment by JPS motorsport Milton Keynes
New rear brake discs and pads
Cruise control retrofit
New genuine BMW floor mats
New M performance gear knob
The cost of the work above was over £3k including fitting in August last year with all invoices included. The car has been almost exclusively maintained by Autowerx in Milton Keynes for the last 8 years and other BMW specialists prior. The raft of invoices is endless.
Mechanically the car wants for nothing and now drives beautifully. The turn in and front end traction now really bring the 130i to life!
Goodyear Eagle F1 Assym 5 tyres all around with 6mm+ on the fronts and brand new rears last week.
Square set up 225/40/18
Bad points relate to bodywork:
Dent below passenger rear window – paintwork stretched slightly with mild discolouration, no chipped paint.
Small chip on rear bumper and rear passenger quarter
Stone chips on bonnet
Alloys in need of refurb
I have tried to include a picture of the dent on the passenger side.
The car is generally in excellent condition for the age and mileage. Mechanically the car is sound, however the bodywork and alloys could do with some TLC to make it perfect. This has never bothered me much as I wanted to drive it more than look at it! The car has just today had the bonnet latch/cable fixed as it broke recently.
Reason for sale: A rare opportunity for me to buy a much wanted car came up over the weekend. I now have 4 and it’s just not justifiable and I don’t have space!
