After nearly 5-years of ownership I have made the difficult decision to sell my wonderful BMW 130i (E81)

It has been the best car I have ever owned by far and may yet become the best car I will have ever had. I'm sincerely hoping I don't regret this and that my next car captures my heart the same.

This is a Feb 2009 registered car (2008 build) with VERY LOW MILEAGE at 36,600 backed up with comprehensive history (see below).

"howmanyleft.com" reports that there are as few as 793 manual 130i M Sports left in the UK and with the wonderful and advanced N52 engine the BMW 130i this one has all the makings of a future classic.

Please note that the car is currently on winter wheels and tyres (Red5's old wheels that I had refurbished) but will be refitted with the original 208M's - also refurbished and in stunning unmarked condition, shod with Dunlop SportMax tyres (255 rear, 225 front).

In my ownership it has been run on Shell V-Power unleaded bar the odd couple of tanks when I have reluctantly handed my wife the keys (out of necessity for me to use her car) and I have cosseted the car in all regards. It's been garaged and so has been protected from the elements as best as can be.

Also non-smoker owned and no sign of it ever having been smoked in.

- Finished in stunning Titan Silver with the Boston Black leather interior
- Has the all important Xenon's
- Sun protection glass
- Cruise control
- Rear PDC
- Inflatable bolsters
- Electric folding mirrors

At purchase I fitted a Genuine BMW hatch spoiler. I also retrofitted the Professional Headunit (a matching 2008 unit with chrome trimmed knobs) and a Rainbow speaker kit (V.Good) with Harmon Kardon tweeter grilles.

I have had a BMWP exhaust and air intake kit on the car for the last couple of years but have returned the car to standard (and have fitted a new Genuine BMW air filter today).

History is as follows (all receipted):
19/03/2009 - BMW distribution PDI
19/05/2010 - Service - Oil and filter, pollen and brake fluid change (Sytner Sunningdale) - 7984 miles

22/05/2011 - I purchased the car - 10045 miles
27/05/2011 - Fitted Genuine BMW hatch spoiler
04/02/2012 - MOT and health check (Stratstone BMW Derby) - 14134 miles
30/03/2012 - Service - Oil and filter, pollen and brake fluid change (Hughes Brothers BMW specialists) - 15259 miles
01/02/2013 - MOT (Hughes Brothers BMW specialists) - 20023 miles
16/02/2013 - Oxygen sensor replaced (Hughes Brothers BMW specialists) - 20319 miles
08/02/2014 - MOT and handbrake adjust (Hughes Brothers BMW specialists) - 27000 miles
10/05/2014 - Service - Oil and filter, air filter, spark plugs, pollen filter and brake fluid change (Hughes Brothers BMW specialists) - 28402 miles
08/12/2014 - Wheels fully refurbished in Black chrome (The Wheel Specialist)
--/09/2015 - New replacement Valeo rear wiper motor
28/03/2015 - MOT (Hughes Brothers BMW specialists) - 31020 miles

Please do checkout:
who completed the servicing using Genuine BMW parts
who refurbished both sets of wheels

To be clear the car does not come with the 261M's. I will be keeping these.

The car currently has 36600 miles with the MOT due on 28-March (absolutely no reason why it won't sail through again) and Service 10-May. It's currently on a private plate which I will put on retention and a new (or possibly the original) number will be issued by the DVLA.

So with an intro like this you'll know that I'm not going to let this go for peanuts. I'm looking for £10,995 which I think is a fair price and I doubt that better can be done for a similar mileage car (if there are any out there).

I'm based in South Derbyshire and viewings can be arranged for weekends.

That really is a stunning example!

If you're keeping the winter wheels, what's next might I ask?

Hi Rob. It'll be a near identical M135i (silver, black leather...). I'm thinking that with different bolts the 261's will still fit. More power was a big draw. :)

Very nice just what I was looking for and gave up on before I regrettably purchased 09 R32.

If I didn't have 135i i'd buy it. Still might if I sell my 135i, but doubt this will hang round for long.

Good price too, if not under priced IMHO

I think you will regret selling such a beautiful example in such superb condition.

But, try Birds and see what they will offer. Could be worth a try for a trouble free sale.
He has a M135i coming.

I'm interested, but got to sell 2011 135i first.

Birds have an older, higher mileage car, but with extras coming " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'd have this one listed here.

Birds will snap it off your hands, add £2k to the advert price

May I ask what the VIN number is, just the last 7 digits?

Does it have Bluetooth and the usb port for ipod interface?

No heated seats :(

I am interested, but there are moving parts from my side.

Hi, thanks for all your positive comments and encouragement on the car. With the exhaust already gone, the intake on its way, and being signed up to a replacement there is no turning back now :|

I wasn't sure how to price the car. There have been plenty of classifieds on eBay in the 10-12k mark but you never know how much they actually go for. There is a low mileage E81 on there at the moment but its an auto (not a plus point on the 130i in my opinion) and it doesn't look as good as mine.

If there are no positive leads on here in a couple of weeks then I may open up the audience through eBay though I'd like to sell to a real enthusiast if I can. I will however be contacting Jason Barker at Birds before to see if there is interest there.

I should have mentioned that I also replaced the rear wiper motor last November for a new Valeo unit as mine started to chuck out rusty water due to the internal seals failing (a common problem with the 1-series).

Mikey, there is no Bluetooth or usb port, just the Aux-in next to the 12v under the arm rest. I put a Motorola TX(something) on the sun visor which is a great unit as it allows two phones to be paired simultaneously (ideal if you have a work and personal phone). I can leave this in the car as I will no longer have a need for it.

No heated seats. This is the only thing that I think would really have completed the spec of the car but I've managed for nearly 5-years without. It certainly didn't dissuade me from making the purchase.

If you're after the spec it is as follows:

1CA SELECTION COP RELEVANT VEHICLES
1CB CO2 CONTENT

I'm utterly gobsmacked that this has not sold on the forum :eek2:
Yep, I'm a little surprised at the lack of interest so-far but I'm in no rush to sell.

i doubt seller will get that figure from Birds, i assume you have seen the mad spec LE they have on their forecourt now. Nice car though
I have just popped a note over to Jason at Birds to see if he is interested, accepting that any offer will likely be less than my private sale aspiration. However, it works the opposite way too, a private sale will likely be lower than a forecourt price so if the car does go into the trade the price could go up for the next owner.

The LE that Birds have coming is sure a high spec, well modified and maintained by them, but its also 18-24 months older and has 23k more miles than mine. Mods don't always add value and can narrow the customer base (I personally value them and would pay a premium for Birds LE) which is why I remove my BMWP exhaust and intake first.

Totally agree and face value I'd take the 130i you have and add LSD myself. It's a rare 09 plate, much lower mileage etc. I'm not in a position to at present.

Wonder if Dougie has spotted it but he may be after a M135 as his next chariot.
As per my message, I'm sure mine has still got a 100k at least on it :)

Why ain't you snapped it up ?

It doesn't surprise me at all that this hasn't sold 11 k is more than most are willing to spend on a 130i. Despite what people think on here these cars are slow to sell I know I have bought three in the last year and all have been up for sale for a while and sold for a lot less than was originally asked for. I do however acknowledge that this is a sound buy assuming the condition and mileage are accurate its just that there aren't many buyers out there willing to drop nearly 11 grand on a 130i. Time of year doesn't help either.

I watch the 3 door 130i market like a hawk, year in, year out since 2008. I think the price is fair, the mileage and Xenons is a major selling point. The market for 3 door 130i's M Sport is tiny, there is only ever a handful for sale. The only thing you will need is time. When one of those few buyers comes along you car stands out as a very nice example....I would pay to put on Pistonheads.
