Hey guys, could someone point me in the correct direction. Trying to find out the 12v switched power sources inside the car that one could tap in for eg, dash cam install.

Thanks in advance.

There are a few live and earth points under the front/left passenger footwell carpet, which are the ones that the BMW fitting instructions for the Head Up Screen recommend using.

Other than that, the 12v centre console power point should be switched so possibly easier to tap into that? Check the amp draw of your cam (which should be low in fairness) and the fuse rating for the 12v point.

The passenger 12v point is quite easy to access from memory.

The panel above the passengers feet is held on by 3 x 10mm bolts, and then it's a case of pulling it down to I clip it.

The wires to the socket should be clearly visible, and it should be easy to route the cables for a cam to the side of the dashboard, and then around the base of the windscreen from the bottom of the A pillar to wherever your cam will be.
