This is my fifth 1 series in 12 years. However, maybe the worst fuel consumption, around 43 to 46mpg. New car registered September 2015. Mixture of driving, mainly dual carriageways, motorway and short trips around town. No difference using cruise control. Published figure is 65.7 (combined). I would be happy with anything in the 50mpg range. Anyone else have similar figure? Dealership going to look at the car, but appear sceptical about my concern.

Be interesting to know what your OBC reports as your average MPH.
Also, have you confirmed the actual MPG manually from how much fuel your putting in at the pumps - possible the OBC is wrong, tho they usually overstate MPG.

Ran a 118D for 4 years. Average was 42.8 mpg. During the week my runs were 9 miles each way with some 10 minutes motorway.

Stop/start off.

If I did a long run on motorways/dual carriageway then 55mpg easy.

You will find if you reset your mpg average before long distance driving you will get good numbers.

But the average with short runs comes way down. Worse in winter with lower temps,

So I suspect your car is fine.

I have a 2011 118d m sport and my fuel ranges from 26mpg when my wife drives the half mile to work :censored2: around 30 to 40 when I'm cocking about and mid fifties on a long casual run.
