This has probably been asked before but I can't find anything. I have a 2018 140i and when my cars been locked for a while, I go to unlock it and I get 2 loud horn beeps. I've had a neighbour complain already about the noise of the car and now the beeps on a morning when I go to work. He is dealing with the noise of the car but the beeps I wanna help myself out with also. Has anyone got any recommendations on what to do weather it be coded out or something in the settings I can change. Thanks in advance 👍

Two horn beeps on lock/unlock usually means the engine is still on, but stopped due to start/stop. Can't imagine you're not switching the engine completely off, though?

If you read this thread https://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=81518 it's more likely the car is telling you your battery is having issues.
It's just come out of a full service and MOT so that's why I don't think it's battery issue.

Have you activated the audio alarm unlock/lock feature ?

I turned my audio alarm beep on with Bimmercode it used to beep twice on unlock/lock however I've now changed it to beep twice on lock, I find the audio beep on lock a good feature and once activated you should be able to turn it off completely in the idrive.

Isn't it illegal to sound your horn when stationary between certain hours?

What type of full service? Did they actually check the battery? An MOT won't tell you if the battery is failing either.

Battery

The battery must be secure with no signs of leaking fluid. An MOT tester will also check the condition of your battery's connectors, which should be tight and free from leaky electrolytes.

A full service so they checked everything
