Iron out

Post by RickN55 » Sun Jun 10, 2018 2:12 pm

Thinking of getting some Auto Finesse Iron out never used such a product before. Wanted mainly for the wheels for the hard to get places and brake hubs, Was wondering if it is safe to spray on the brake calipers too?

Any advice appreciated :D

Safe to use all over providing you don't let it dry and you rinse thoroughly.

PS - It smells amazing so make sure you take a big sniff! :D

I much prefer Bilt Hamber's Korrosol, fine to use on our callipers, and has a hint of battenberg cake above the usual sulphurous smell.

+1....used loads of different fallout removers and Bilthamber is my favorite......and the only one that doesnt smell horrid. Auto wheels is the best wheel cleaner I've ever used. Good value too comapared to some, Gyeon Iron is great but too expensive.

Bilt Hamber is normally better value too as they are 1 liter bottles.

I've found Autoglym Magma does a decent job.

I've tried quite a few manufactures (Auto finesse, AutoBrite, Gtechniq etc) and they are all very similar but after speaking to a friend of mine who is a professional detailer, he taught me a quick trick of diluting the gtechniq W6 to 70/30 (water) ratio with water as its much stronger than most "off the shelf" Iron Fallout removers. Works a treat!
