Not sure what a specific option does?

Thanks to all that have replied

I have found out what i needed and how to do it

OEM BMW microphone 84 31 6 938 762

I made a 3.5mm connector
Image

this end connects to the microphone

removed the cover

Installed the mic

then connected them together

I now have a fully working mic with my Pro HU with builtin Bluetooth

All without the hassle and expense of an MULF2 in the boot.......... impressive.

I'm guessing that the second fakra connector is for the USB input.

How did you remove your roof light/switch unit? A major pain?

I bent the springs on my orginal one trying to remove it to fit a mic (mine connects to the Fiscon bluetooth under my hu) and had to replace the unit (cost over £300!! ).

I need to undo my current one to replace a bulb fitting (I have spares.. ), but it's proving to be just as stubborn as the first one and I don't want to break this one.

I'm going to work on the USB next I just need to learn how to code, I have the cable and software just haven't got the time.

To remove the light/switch unit I stuck my hand under the roof lining as its soft I managed to release the to clips which hold the unit in

I can't release it that way - nails too long.

Please keep us posted with any coding and USB setups - if this all works out it looks like a much better way to get the full factory bluetooth/USB setup.

hi,

Thanks for posting this, very helpful. I have the same setup, with pro headunit with built in bluetooth. I've got the part from a bmw specialist garage, and found it has no wires or connectors, just the microphone. I can get wires, but can someone tell me where to get connectors that will clip into the microphone and the quadlock connector (mainly the white clip in the second picture) . I'm not really keen on soldering directly to the pins.

thanks

I have connect the USB port, I just need to get the radio coded for it, I haven't had the time as I'm trying to learn how to do it myself.

I cabled the USB under the arm rest, here are the part codes I used

USB Socket (with AUX): 84 10 9 237 653
Connectline : 61 11 9 129 361

I had to modify the connecting cable to make it fit, power via the USB works but I will only know for sure once the coding is done

sorry no pics yet

I can switch it worst case. Have you got your USB working!? Will it definitely need coding as the Bluetooth didn't! Cannot wait to get on it at the weekend now!!

Cheers for the help

Any updates on the USB install?

Just bought an identical HU (from the same seller I think!). Plugged in and it works, need to do the mic and USB next.

Did you get the double bongs on the PDC?
