Good progress! I used the smallest flathead from a cheap set of jeweller's screwdrivers to remove the pins.

Yeah thanks Ben. Think I’m ready to fit the headlights once pin remover arrives.

My hope now is that my FRM3 basic doesn’t need replacing with FRM3 MAX. That’s £150 I don’t have!!

If it doesn’t I’ll be as happy as a pig in poo!!!

Headlight pins changed. FRM pins changed. Xenons are in.

Still need to code them to the car and see if FRM XL is needed.

At the moment nothing is working (halos, shutters, high beam, low beam) and both the low beams are flashing constantly when switched on.

But they look good fitted.

It’s crazy just how much of a difference xenons make on e8* models.

Lookin’ good. 8)

Edit: Do you still have one orange bulb in?

I had depo angel eyes with HID kit before fitting these and agreed they make a huge difference to how the car looks.

And Lol no mate it’s the reflection off a yellow skip/bin.

A little update.

Coded $522 and the low beams now don’t flash and the shutters work......sort of.

With the headlights turned off I can flash and the low beams work as they should. BUT, with low beams switched on the flasher doesn’t work.

I now have an FRM 3 MAX that will be fitted and coded this weekend so I’m hoping it will all fall into place.

Question? What does this light now do? From looking at a couple of mates Xenons pwhat I can work out it does nothing.

Success!!!!!

Massive thank you to the OP Ben (bjt) without him this wouldn’t of been possible.

I do have a few minor additions to make to the install that might help newbies like myself.

Firstly - to re pin the headlight plugs there are some plastic retaining clips on either side of the plug that need removing before unplugging the pins (see below)

Image

These can be unclipped and opened out to reach the pins underneath.

Also @bjt - you need to amend one of your wiring colours Image

The second red ring should read White/Green not White/Blue.

Had to buy an FRM Max as the halos and shutters wouldn’t work. But once all coded everything works perfect.

Again a massive thank you to Ben. You’re a legend.
