Never had it done but it's quite involved. The full dashboard has to be removed for starters.

Sounds pricey...The aircon wasn't working so I had it regased at Kwik Fit. I could smell this smell like natural gas coming from the central vents on the dashboard. In about 3-4 weeks the AC stopped working and the smell stopped. I had it re-gassed again at local garage with some dye in it and 3-4 weeks again it has stopped working and no natural gas like smell in the cabin...At the moment i'm just using the heater with out the a/c function...

When regassing the place SHOULD leak test it. There are 2 main ways this is done, vacuum and pressure. The vacuum test is normally done by the machine automatically after it evacuates the system, there are a few leaks that don't show up with this test as the vacuum sucks the hole shut. This is more common in softer hoses rather than rigid components. Assuming that both places did the test it might not be the evaporator. Since you have had the dye put in at the last regas definitely try and get the lamp and goggles to see where the leak actually is. If you can't find it, a decent Aircon place should be able to pressurise the system with nitrogen and some more dye to help find it. Good luck.
