Re: My Suspension quest! 130i

Those are the ones I’ve got although they aren’t Draper so I might give those a try, cheers. I’m also having a bit of trouble getting the msport springs compressed enough, at least enough without my survival instincts telling me to run away  There are sets that use plates rather than claws on ...

Re: My Suspension quest! 130i

Can anyone in here recommend a spring compressor set? Just found out the hard way that my claw-style compressors are far too long/awkward :x I use the draper claw type as seen here - https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/draper-n152-2-piece-coil-spring-compressor-set/ however they are very awkward to do ...

Re: E82 Induction Kit

Dont waste your money the stock airbox and filter are more than good enough for your car and you wont get any gains from fitting a cone type in engine bay, probably less power from sucking in hot air from engine as mentioned, if you want more noise you can drill some holes in stock airbox....or just...

Re: My Suspension quest! 130i

Ian - I'm in the process of gathering parts for a refresh on the new (to me) family wagon, a 325d Touring. What are your thoughts on rear bump stops on these? Is there a benefit to going with shorter items like on the e8*, or would the additional weight of the tourer be better with stock length? Th...

Re: My Suspension quest! 130i

As Mark says its a personal thing and to me ARB swaps should be used for fine tuning once you have springs and dampers setup as good as you can, often changing ARB is a plaster fix on a problem not a solution My car for example is setup quite soft with road bias in mind using stock m-sport springs a...

Re: My Suspension quest! 130i

Get the tyres scrubbed up first and play with pressures if it doesnt improve would be my first steps, new tyres can take some time to come good. Rear ARB isnt something ive played with myself as not felt the need even on my last 130i which had LSD, people will usually recommend what they have fitted...

Re: My Suspension quest! 130i

Are the tyres nicely scrubbed in or still new ? also was it same before you fitted them ? and played with pressures at all ? Rear ARB should only be changed if you have LSD ? if you have then fitting a stiffer ARB will help on track but not so much on road usually, you need some compliance to keep t...

Re: My Suspension quest! 130i

Stiffer springs will make it worse without a better damper to control it, the Eibach rears in the B12 kit are a good rate for road/fastroad use and billy damper ok as well, maybe its something else causing issue, what tyres do you run ? also what ARB is fitted ?

Re: My Suspension quest! 130i

So is that the M3 h&r springs ? im not 100% on this as very few actually fit the M3 lower wishbone arm (part that spring and bottom of damper connect to) but imagine if you have and you have M3 springs then there is your problem. The damper shouldnt be affecting the ride height that is the springs, ...
