Re: Which tyres for 208 wheels on 118D sport E87

Either should be ok but as mentioned ive had no issues 225/40 front and rear on the Lci wheels other than with the PS4 they look a little stretched on rears, nothing massive though, if you want zero stretch the wider option will be better.

Re: Which tyres for 208 wheels on 118D sport E87

I run Michelin 225/40-18 tyres on both my sets of E81 FL wheels with the 8.5" rears, weirdly the 208s on which have Michelin Alpin winters have very little stretch look on the wider rear rims, on my 264 wheels same size rims but with PS4 tyres the rears are a little more stretched looking, not terri...

Re: 130i hunters unite!

Me again, thoughts on the following? 130i in Silver, Xenons, Leather, 160k (seems this is the magic number for selling!). Seems this one has been marginally better looked after as it has recently had rear suspension, rear calipers, front brakes replaced recently. Negatives; It has a massive dent on...

Re: OEM Suspension Spring codes

Cheers. Thanks for all the pointers - your suspension thread and comments elsewhere have been incredibly useful. Final thing that’s just come to mind - Konis should work with camber pin mod, shouldn’t they? Sounds like this setup is spot on for what I want - hopefully tonnes sharper and smoother th...

Re: OEM Suspension Spring codes

Sounds like a good plan, as mentioned the rear bumpstops are the critical thing for improving ride comfort, BMWP rears gives an extra 11mm of travel over Msport before starting to assist the coilspring so a good compromise, that said ive never had an issue with rear being too soft on road with the e...

Re: OEM Suspension Spring codes

Are the stock bump stops really that bad - even with the Konis? Will talk to Cotswolds about BMWP bump stops - are the part numbers on your suspension thread for the 130i specifically? Rear ones yes, they are designed to help the soft coil spring hold the car up when fully loaded with 5 adults and ...

Re: OEM Suspension Spring codes

OK but you need to fit shorter rear bumpstops or you won't get benefit, either koni one as per my quest thread or bmwp ones, dampers won't stop it sitting on oe bumpstop and being like a pogo at the back so unless you run with a fully loaded car it is essential to do something with rear bumpstop. Fr...

Re: 130i: Bilstein B12 Pro vs BMW OE parts - handling/comfort/value?

Nothing wrong with B4 or Sach dampers despite being cheap they work fine with stock or Eibach springs, I would say better on stock springs though. OP what is wrong with your original Msport springs were they damaged/rusted beyond use ? I found the Msport setup best allrounder but the Eibach Pro kit ...

Re: OEM Suspension Spring codes

Sorry been away on holiday just back, it seems tricky to find direct equivalents as despite many companies listing them as a match others have found they sit much higher than msport once on the car!, what is wrong with your original springs are they too far gone ?

Re: 130i: Bilstein B12 Pro vs BMW OE parts - handling/comfort/value?

Going to b12 kit will make your low speed ride issues worse as it has firmer eibach springs, I would get some b4 dampers and fit with your stock msport springs and new bumpstops which will make it like new stock setup. You could try your msport springs with your b6 but don't think it will give impro...

Re: 130i: Bilstein B12 Pro vs BMW OE parts - handling/comfort/value?

BIlstein B6/B8 dampers are a touch firm at lower speeds and sharp edges like manholes etc and i dont like them so much for this reason, however they come into there own at higher speeds though offering good body control and decent enough comfort, Birds B1 kit is just the same low speed ride but does...

Re: Heppy's E81 130i

Good job swapping them over, they are curved and fitted like they are for a reason but it doesnt really affect function however best to do it as it should be, here is a good thread about the arms :) https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthr ... ?t=1079383

Re: Will m135i brakes fit my BMW e81 2008

Ive not needed to change my sheilds when doing this on a 130i but it does have larger oe brakes tha your 120d so probably sheilds as well, however they dont wrap around edge of disc like on some cars so even if yours are a bit smaller they should be fine with the larger brakes, worst case as MP says...

Re: My Suspension quest! 130i

Hi there, first post on the board! Thanks for this great thread. I was looking into buying the Koni Sport adjustables, however I can nowhere find the rear adjustable shock absorpers. Are these the correct part nrs? Front: 8741-1484LSPORT 8741-1484RSPORT Rear: 8240-1231sport According to the online ...

Re: Nurburgring oil temps on track.

Have a look at setup on the following thread, https://babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=103765

I know this guy well and he drives the car hard hence oil temp issues, now with the twin coolers no problems on track
