Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

Nyxeris was straight on it, and as he said you can simulate a 1M setup (fixed weight low speed assist) with some wiring and coding of existing modules, but not the M3 setup (adjustable weight with M Drive) without the M3 DME.

Jon must have a massive rig so doesn’t need the extra assist.

CalvinNismo's 135i Coupé

I thought I'd share some long overdue pictures of the upgrade bits that I had done at Hack. Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

Very nice updates Jon! Good to see you put those spring arms to use straight away… I’ve been holding onto them for about 2 and half years! [emoji28] Very interesting about the Precision coils too, it’s a shame they didn’t work out, but thanks for putting the information out there for people to make ...

Re: Nyxeris' E81 130i

Awesome findings Nyxeris! The ones supplied with my MaLo crank seal guard were M8 x 40mm cap heads in A2 (304) stainless with M8 form A washers. Those N74’s were used in the 760i/760Li also, so hopefully they don’t have the full Rolls Royce tax on them. I’ll buy some of the M8 x 40mm and swap them o...

Re: Nyxeris' E81 130i

Do the OEM ones have smaller heads or something? i.e. did you use the OE bolts to mitigate clearance issues? I went for OEM bolts as they are aluminium and the right grade to stretch at the BMW torque values. My car is a ‘daily’ and I use it in the winter, so didn’t want to risk galvanic corrosion ...

Re: E82 "Engine fault, reduced power" - 135i

Do you know if your oil dripper/sprayer pipe was replaced at the same time as your eccentric shaft and Valvetronic motor by the previous owner? That’s the other thing that’s worth replacing whilst your in there. If the pipe is not dripping/spraying enough oil onto the teeth and worm drive you might ...

Re: Nyxeris' E81 130i

Just as an FYI Nyxeris, I had Hack install some standard BMW aluminium bolts with the MaLo crank seal guard, (part number - 11 11 7 528 896), M8 x 37mm with no washer.

Re: Weird Oil temp problem

Ive got an E82 135i running somewhere upward of 400hp. Problem is that the pil is apparently getting up to 120C on road and 140+C on track at which point the engine reduces power, not ideal when youve just gone past the pits at Nurburgring for instance. Car has a 13 row Mocal oil cooler fitted and ...

Re: My Suspension quest! 130i

You can fit 1M suspension to any 1er if you swap on the rear camber arms too, that might broaden your horizons a little? Just to expand on this, you also need E9X M3 or F8X M front knuckles also, the O/D in the knuckle for the damper tube is larger and it doesn’t rely on the ‘tab’ to position it he...

Re: CalvinNismo's 135i Coupé

Do you want me to load my non MILVs tune onto my N52 and see what happens? DW did a test drive after their work so I am sure they would have said if there were Valvetronic issues. When I picked the car up I literally paid the invoice, loaded the new tune from Bob and drove away so no idea if it wou...

Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

CalvinNismo came to say hi whilst he was in the neighborhood for a wedding. I did indeed and I got to experience the Le Mans Blue duo, was awesome to get a ride in both of them and to have jonwilli show me some of his local roads. They're both really well sorted cars and feel different enough in th...

Re: CalvinNismo's 135i Coupé

That's a pain - I wonder if the misbehaviour is an N55 thing. I've never seen anyone run into issues immediately after fitting MILVs to an N52, or admit they've had issues anyway! Hopefully the tune sorts it [emoji1696] I’ve not read anything about issues either, so I was surprised also. I’ve been ...

Re: CalvinNismo's 135i Coupé

Your car sounds very capable docwra, mine isn’t quite there yet suspension-wise, but on the road it’s well mannered and, if you’re smooth, still fast. My SE spec’ suspension and skinny 11mm rear ARB combined with the Wavetrac means that traction is really good, but it does lean when you tuck it in t...
