Re: What charger do you use?

NOCO Genius 10 . NOCO units do everything the CTEKs do for slightly less money, and can work with loads of battery types the CTEKs can't including lithium so are slightly more future-proof. Supposedly better at reconditioning dead batteries too. Plus a year's extra warranty. I bought the 10a becaus...

Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

Nyxeris I am not at home at the moment but did have three or four steering links in the garage from various racks I had bought to do the M3 rack swaps on both my cars. I used the original steering links on both the 135i and 130i so one of them in the garage would be M3 part that I'd be happy to sen...

Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

There are a few threads on the go about getting Servotronic working - saved them for a rainy day and haven't read fully, but I think you have to fit the JBE from an M3/1M, run a couple of wires, then enable it with coding and you're sorted https://www.spoolstreet.com/threads/servotronic-on-a-335i.14...

Re: N52 cats

The N52 only has primary cats in the manifold on our cars, no secondaries to remove for an easy win at the scrappies. https://i.postimg.cc/prRCnhV7/cat.png I can't imagine you'd make more selling the factory cats than you'd potentially lose selling the car with a set of custom headers and sports cat...

Re: Clutch gone on E87 118D 2007 LCI

As Waldorf said, you'll need the full clutch kit (clutch plate, release bearing, release lever/fork), a flywheel (dual-mass with pilot bearing) and a set of flywheel bolts. I'd agree with changing the rear crank seal too, although I'd just ask the garage to source it rather than buying one in advanc...

Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

Nice updates! Interesting info re the bump stops too. Steve Dinan was on a podcast recently (edit: Youtube link ) and mentioned how changing bump stops is one of the first things he does to a BMW - I guess those mounts with OEM stops were his idea of the sweet spot for the E82. I've had this 10 ton ...

Re: Advice please

What are the offsets? You need Alpina E46 fitment which is ET47/ET50 IIRC - nothing else will work on an E88.

Be very careful of replicas being sold as genuine, there are photos on the Alpina Registry to help you work it out :)

Re: Nyxeris' E81 130i

The factory bolts would have stood 5-6mm further out than normal as the mounting lugs of the plate sit between the bolt head and the engine block. I'm fairly certain they'd still have fouled on my car thanks to its surprise dodgy clearance, plus I'd have lost that 5-6mm in thread engagement so I'm n...

Re: My new 125i Coupe

There are lots of high-quality aftermarket wheels for the E82, Bola’s FL series are becoming incredibly popular because they’re strong, light flow-formed wheels for barely any more money than dodgy chinesium replicas. Lots of the genuine wheel styles are very heavy - I’d avoid them unless you’re dea...

Re: Clutch gone on E87 118D 2007 LCI

1000% dual mass all day every day and twice on Fridays. Literally no benefit to single mass on your car. Would expect quotes between £600-£1000 depending on location/labour rate. Did you have a surprise DPF delete? I remember the car had a lot of undisclosed issues but can’t remember the specifics. ...

Re: Nyxeris' E81 130i

What's the thoughts on Moog parts for the rear? This kit was about £110 the other night on the autodoc app which is nearly half the price of buying just the three TRW, Lemforder or Meyle arms separately. IIRC Moog are high quality or even OEM for lots of US car brands and make all of that stuff dom...

BMW's ISTA software has the wiring diagrams and workshop manuals built in, plenty of copies floating about if you search.

Re: MHD Stages with dyno results

Fully standard car. 66 plate so pre PPF. No hardware. Custom map. 2020 run on Tesco 99 and 2021 run on V Power, 0.5bhp increase on V Power... The oldest argument on the internet has been settled. That might actually justify me running my rusty old 130i on the stuff, sod all other ways to make power...
