Re: Issue after having new rear tyres

Its the fitting garage’s duty to inform drivers of what tyres their vehicles need - they are the experts not the driver. they VERY quickly suggested a cheap tyre in order to pass the MOT So people should rely on the garage, who'll suggest a non-matching cheapo? Great advice. Not what I am saying at...

Re: BMW cannot update software due to being corrupt

All the misunderstanding and confusion you exhibit, after this has been explained so many times, leads me to believe that it’s you that’s been bricked! I’ve never seen somebody so stubbornly grasp the wrong end of so many sticks, quite so firmly! Sometimes you just have to realise that other people...

Re: BMW cannot update software due to being corrupt

Why are we talking about warranty? If you give me your car into my care and I break it. Am I okay if it is out of warranty? What has warranty got to do with anything. The car was given to a garage to do a service, and they returned it broken. Warranty has nothing to do with this. Like I've been say...

Re: Car damaged.

It’s the NHS, they throw money at everything without questioning it. If it were a police car the clipped the OP, it would be similar. The emergency services don’t want the agro and will pay whatever, if it dodges hassle. I’ll give you an example, an innocent member of the public drove over a stinge...

Re: Anyone know this car? - v1.1

I saw plenty like that fixed and back on the road. Obviously current owners think it was “bumper damage” I am not registered on this forum. Can you get me a reg from owner? I wanted to see If I have it on my site. Sorry, silly me I didn’t twig that the reg was missing! I have sent a PM to ask :) So...

Re: Car damaged.

Hi, yes I did sign a hire agreement. I asked Bmw many times this service sounds too good to be true. I’m getting a courtesy car and my car fixed by bmw and all the aggro of contacting the offending party sorted by them. This is what bumps up everyone else's insurance as it inflates the claim massiv...

Re: Anyone know this car? - v1.1

Hi Arnie,

This one looks interesting, if true!
https://www.macanforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=8723

That sure looks like a lot of damage, to ever be repairable in any convincing way??

Re: Anyone know this car? - v1.1

Re: Anyone know this car? - v1.1

Cat S because of pothole;) I would suspect it was quite a big one but still.... The damage to the strut top.... I does look like an ‘accident’ though, rather than just a pot hole :o The bonnet has taken a beating from the strut failure, but also, the rear tyre is deflated and wheel arch damaged. I ...

Re: Anyone know this car? - v1.1

Hi Arnie, This one looks interesting! Apparently listed as a CAT S insurance write off, but the seller is adamant the damage was strut turret failure. This is a big deal at £10k to fix (both sides) but would in no way cause a GT4 to be written off? Not a car I want to buy, but interested if there i...

Re: Jason Barker cars

Another positive vote from me.
We sold him two cars and he played with a straight bat.

Eyes wide open, as in any used car sale. Get the car inspected by somebody who knows their 130’s perhaps.

Re: LSD vs wider rear tyres

Applying the same loads to the larger surface area does indeed add some grip, but can also give you a front / rear imbalance, requiring possibly more mods to overcome. Saw it mentioned before but this is the most recent so Ive quoted you ;) A wider tyre of the same compound at the same pressure doe...

Re: LSD vs wider rear tyres

I had summer, then winter tyres on my 130i and drove in snow. I say ‘drove’ but on the summer tyres, I could barely get moving! With winter tyres on I could go up any steep hills I wanted. My Quaife equipped 135i was also on winters in the snow a few times. I always had full two wheel drive, even if...
