Re: Anyone know this car? - v1.1

Hi again Arnie, I think the vcheck site is superb! very nice job, I wish I had access to something like this before. I wonder if you could just clarify the difference between basic, and full check for me? I'm looking at the following car (TT03AWE): https://www.gumtree.com/p/audi/audi-tt-s-line-tfsi...

Re: Selling privately

Autotrader is by far the best as a buyer. I don't think their latest updates to the app are very good though.

I've had success selling on Gumtree too.

It's just luck half the time as market for private buyers with cash to spend is small.

Re: Spotting repaints and resprays..

A cheaper way to spot cars that have been painted is a paint depth gauge. Sometimes cameras do pick up on colour differences. Often bumpers look further out of shade on cameras than they do in real life. If the colour is good to the eye and on every other device than an Apple Mac I wouldn't get too ...

You mean changing the entire wheel and not actually changing tyres?

Re: Service

It does sound as BMW dealers have significantly hiked their service prices recently.

The bigger service used to be £500/550, but these big quotes are popping up a lot recently.

Re: LOCAL BMW WARRANTY FRAUD

Strange first post not to return. Especially now it seems clear there isn't a 2017 M135i and an extended warranty on a car within the manufacturer's warranty.

Re: Reliability

Has anyone on here ever filled a JD Power survey? Me neither. The survey was based on 13,536 responses. That's nowhere near enough given just how many different models there are. All you need is a few too many optimistic responses, or a few moaners and scores can be killed. In previous years they di...

Re: Anyone recognise this car?

Applies to most performance cars, but the M140 seems to get smashed up unusually often - they are leathal in the wet That's because they are cheap enough to be accessible to younger and inexperienced drivers. We had the Golf R as the go to car for the aggressive youth for a couple of years, now it'...

Just shows how ‘performance’ has moved on in a relatively short time. With electric cars on the horizon don't be so sure! We've enough people landing...

A quick Google brings up this thread. I think it's the one, but I've not read the 19 pages.

Re: LOCAL BMW WARRANTY FRAUD

There was a thread on Pistonheads about an engine failure on a M235i whilst on a track day. It was probably a couple of years ago now. He was initially refused his claim, but BMW later backed down and replaced his engine. He argued that a track day isn't classified as racing and nothing within the T...

Re: Left Disappointed:(

Try an AMG A45. 👍🏻 Think they’re out of budget. Also 4 cal and 4wd. No sliding around and also too bangs and pops too much to the point of being embarrassing:) I did enjoy the M140 after a good drive. I think it can be a weekend car no problem. I really wouldn't buy an Mlite as a weekend car. They ...

Re: Left Disappointed:(

The M140i to me is a good All round car. It does everything you need as an every day car. It isn't a weekend warrior of a car. It's comfy, reasonably refined, idrive/pro drive about the best in car tech, it looks decent, it's quick, good engine, and if you're a badge snob it's got a BMW badge. It is...
