Re: CalvinNismo's 135i Coupé

Those rod bearings look like new!! Rod bearings is something that I worry about on both N52 and N54 even though instances of failure are incredibly low! The internet stories and issues with other BMW engines and no confirmed conclusion on why there are issues plays on my mind! Will be great once you...

Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

How much difference does the m3 rack make on the road and did you bother with the servo wiring ? I think it would depend on the type of roads you regularly drive on. If they are twisty A and B roads you will notice the M3 rack straight away. The quicker rack reduces the amount of arm/shoulder movem...

Look like a really good finish on them, will look ace on the car. Who did you use to refurb the calipers?

Re: Nyxeris' E81 130i

I'd like to think these parts will outlast the car now so anti-seize should hopefully be redundant  If you plan to work on your car in future I would add anti seize or put some spray wax on threads/nuts. Its amazing how much easier some jobs are with a bit more space by removing a lot of un-as...

Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

Nyxeris, I don’t know how close some of the LHD market headers are to fitting RHD cars (or not), but the E9X M3 steering link is billet and skinnier to give extra room for those S65 headers (both LHD and RHD I believe). Could maybe be worth looking into? From memory the steering link on the 135i is...

Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

Just checked out Leadfoot's website... £400 estimate for a custom manifold. I imagine it would be a bit more in reality but that's something else on my list  The quote for my exhaust started off at £900 with a 200 CEL sports cat, which I thought was too good to be true!. When I met up with LFR...

Re: Nyxeris' E81 130i

MaLo's v1 bolts were a few mm longer than standard, and had an unthreaded collar where they fit through the plate. I never thought to check if they were aluminium in honesty, but they didn't weigh much and didn't stick to my magnetic bolt tray! I think Malo provide Stainless Steel bolts with their ...

Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

Once the exhaust is on the car I will get it on the dyno again. I imagine it is still in the 540hp to 570hp region though, limited by pump fuel Octane. Next mods I am debating are WMI which should get me to 600hp to 650hp, completely unnecessary as the car is already ballistic but would be good for ...

Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

Another update I wanted to share was that on Fabian from PureBoost's request I have removed the PR coils and fitted OEM S55 Delphi coils to the car. Whilst tuning the car I had larger than expected timing corrections in my logs which Fabian believed were partly down to ignition set up. I have to say...

Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

I thought I also ought to give an update on my rear suspension set up and why I changed it as it may help others and be of interest. From earlier postings you will see when I originally fit my subframe I went with Dinan upper mounts and Koni bunp stops. I have since changed these to Powerflex Black ...

Re: Jonwilli's BMW E82 135i N54

A few weeks ago I finally fitted the E92 M3 spring/camber arms that CalvinNismo sold me. Had an alignment done afterwards by a place that had been recommended by a guy who amateur races. The improvement is massive and given me loads of confidence with the car on hard acceleration. Before the rear us...

Re: Nyxeris' E81 130i

The one bit that most don’t seem to mention is that they’re a bloody snug fit in the chassis and it was this bit that took bloody ages. I had same issue with my 135i and the 130i when I fit the front M3 parts. The front subframes are meant to be same between M3 and non M cars so wondered if you'd g...

Maybe it’s just too expensive. Although with the spec and low mileage I would say it’s not too much over the top.
I reckon it is just the price. Most people are looking in the £5k to £7k range.

Re: New member, 1 series coupe buying advice, 125i or 135i

So it’s gonna have to be NA. And I’d much prefer the coupe, so that suggests I should be looking at the 125i. In terms of what I’ll get from a remap, 270bhp seems to be the figure I’ve read a lot, is this realistic? In theory I don't see why not. Its the same N52 as the one in the 130i but with sof...

Re: New member, 1 series coupe buying advice, 125i or 135i

For classic BMW experience at this money Id be buying an E46 M3 I reckons, BMWs arent supposed to have turbos at all, current M cars are worse for it IMO. E46 M3 is a chunk of change now though...decent ones are £15k to £20k, even the snotters are £10+k. I reckon a 130i or 125i with diff and refres...
