Re: Terrible odor

Pop the lid off your screenwash bottle and have a smell. If it's gone off it'll smell of rotten eggs and will permeate the cabin.

Slipping a couple of Milton Sterilising tablets into the screenwash bottle often sorts that out.

Re: 1M recall

That's interesting as I've received nothing.

Have you got any more details on it?

I'll get it checked when mine goes in for its annual oil change sometime in March.

Re: 1m x 2

Well done on getting them both together, a nice photo for the memories.

I've only managed it once at a CITP meet, unplanned and both 1M's were AW.

Re: 1M recall

I know of a recall in the US/Canada/South Africa but not in the UK, and it relates to the battery cable in the boot. Info here, issue #14: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=760815 I've not heard anything in all my service visits and I've not been contacted. I can't find anything in the...

Re: Tracker

I would make sure the security updates have been applied at BMW. One of the benefits is it stops the key cloaning OBD access as a key has to be present in the car. It's a long process as all the modules get updated. I got mine done for free as I emphasised the known security risks and BMW were adver...

Congratulations and welcome to the 1M club. :D

The black grilles and dark lines compliment the AW well, as does the carbon boot spoiler.

Still love mine...

Re: Noxious smell

It may sound a bit daft but take the washer bottle cap off and have a smell of the contents. The hot engine bay can have a detrimental effect on the washer fluid and they can go off, especially if the cheaper washer fluids are used. That smell then gets circulated in the car from the bottle breather...

Re: 1M exhaust tips

Yes, under 3 years old at the time; I bought mine under the AUC scheme so they were replaced no problem. The standard tips aren't the best quality to be fair, and water from the combustion process tends to gather at the lower lip of each one, so this is where they can go. Since having the new tips I...

Re: 1M exhaust tips

Mine were changed under warranty.

They're an interference fit using spring clips so should pull off - may need a bit of persuasion though.

I quite like the standard exhaust sound and have been looking for carbon tips for ages, but you just can't seem to get quality items now.

Re: small number plates

I've got a 5 digit smaller plate on mine and have been running them on various cars for years. Mine is 370mm but could have been 350mm whilst still meeting the minimum border requirements. Mine are completely legal; correct font, border, spacing, BS stamp, makers details etc... Give Dave at DMB grap...

Re: BMW insured warranty

I've got it on mine.

Comprehensive plus the emergency service with a £250 excess for me is considerably cheaper than your quote so it's a no-brainer for me.

It reads as though you've got a DMS map on it though, so I'm not sure if they would offer cover or honour any warranty claim if they knew. :?:

Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: 1M Rep: Engine swap to N54

But 340bhp is a bit lame coming from a 400+ 135i, also you have to keep the miles low on a 1m and keep it stock otherwise you will loose money. Unless you're an investor 1m is a pointless purchase ------------------------- Monacoblau e87 1m There are many errors in your paragraph, but you are entit...
