Anyone know the best place to buy an oil filter removal tool for a 2009
series 1 118D, seems BMW have taken off the nut that used to be on top of their oil filters so now
I need a special tool instead of my sockets
i havnt seen the 1 series oil filter but if its the same as a normal one then you can get a generic removal tool from somewhere like halfords, its just like a handle with a piece of chain on it
Anyone know what size the oil filter cap is as I think I may have found a tool to do it. Im not sure if all 1 series are the same but mine 2009 doesnt have a nut on top
Tried my local dealer and they replied that they dont sell them, (Oil filter top removal sockets) for the life of me I still cant find what size it is as the 1 series is often not listed :?:
I didnt think it would be so difficult to find out the size of the oil filter cap, there must be someone on babybmw that has a series 1 and changes their oil. I wanted rather than a chain the cup type that works with a wrench, not even sure there is enough space to use a chain. Do others use chains on their 1 ers?
Well I wont give up yet but disappointed I couldnt get the information from this site as I thought it was an easy one given that some must be changing their own oils?
