Did you get the bigger 130i brake discs and calioers? 330mm instead of 300mm should get rid of some fading

Not yet twenny, I was looking at them or some 135i brakes for the car. Not sure if I want to spend more money on the car or bankrupt myself and get a 135i

The car survived another trackday :) sadly the track was wet for 4 of the 6 sessions, I really struggled for grip on the wet and the federal rsr didn't seem to be the best for wet conditions. They are really good in the dry though, can't complain about them for the price! The group I was in had about 15 cars in it, 5 of them were going round like they were on a Sunday drive but they were well behaved and kept the car on the track and moved over to let the faster cars past. There were 5 other cars that had the worst trackday manners I have ever seen, in one of the dry sessions I had I was stuck behind a civic type r who would not move out of the way (even after being black flagged for 4 laps!) he finally pulled off the track on black flag number 5 :? The other 4 perpetrators would also not move out of the way willingly and one mx5 pulled over to the right on the straight and then decided to pull back in front of me when I was doing 110mph. I got speaking to a guy with a Mini Cooper s and he took me for a session in that and I was blown away by the car, what a great little track toy. The car turned in a lot better with the extra camber I added up front, I maxed out the top mounts on the meister r coils. The brakes performed ok and there wasn't much fade but the pads began to give up when they got really hot, think I will have to upgrade to some bigger brakes. I will post up a couple of YouTube videos of the dry and wet session. Sorry for the essay

Yeah it's not too bad, the brakes get too hot after about 5 or so laps then it starts to struggle. I honsetly couldn't believe how great that Mini I got a passenger ride in around knockhill was, it still has stock suspension but he was running 888s or something and the car just turned in without any understeer and oversteered when he lifted off. He had wilwood brakes on it too and the braking was unbelievable! Are you going to be tracking your Mini soon?

You going to change brakes or just get uprated pads and braided lines?

Probly won't be out until next year in it as i'm gathering bits and using it as a daily while 135 away.

Well if you ever fancy swapping your 135 for a 125 I can help you out  I've changed the pads and fluid, the brakes are much better now but I'm still getting fade. Was looking at getting some of the bmwp brakes off of eBay but they are still pretty pricey at about £650 for the front calipers and second hand discs without pads. I'm not sure if doing the brake lines would cure my brake fade :?

Haha, i don't plan ever selling it.

Would you not be better getting m135i brakes like other people have done?

Mini's on track people just go standard discs, uprated pads/braided lines/fluids.

Yeah I'm debating if I want to keep the car and spend more money on brakes etc as it's just not fast enough for my liking, eyeing up e46 m3's again

Quick update, my car has the same abs/traction control/orange handbrake light fault again after spending £400 a few weeks ago on a new bearing and abs sensor. I think my best route is investing in a code reader and trying to fix the fault myself this time as code reading and labour ran me for £250 on the cars last trip to the garage. On a brighter note I've booked in for another trackday on the 26th and my dad has given me a shot of his e36 m3 track car for the day so I will be sure to post up videos :spotman:

Is this not DTC failure? Mine is having a similar issue, I've replaced the drive shafts and new sensors are on order and should be with me Monday. I'm hoping it'll sort this fault out. I've just picked up a icarsoft i910-II fault code reader / clearer seem like the best one for the money and can clear advance codes like ABS and Airbag lights

You could be right mike, the first time it happened the fault codes were for the passenger front abs sensor and abs bearing. I had both of those replaced and the car was fine for about a week and now it's started throwing up the same lights on the dash and I'm also getting the red low tyre pressure warning which I can't clear. I will look into getting one of those code readers, thanks for the tip :)

Exactly the same fault as me mine was showing driver side rear ABS sensor, garage advised changing the Reluctor rings as they were corroded. Only just discovered this DTC unit failure and found out how much it is to fix! Made me feel sick, especially when the fault developed on the day I listed it on auto trader, I'm hoping the new sensors will put it right in my case but I'll let you know how I get on with mine as it might help you diagnose yours.

I finally had time at the weekend to work on my car! I replaced all of the rear topmount bushings for my coilovers which finally cured the rattle :spotman:
I also had a look at the new abs sensor that had been fitted and noticed that there wasn't enough slack on the cable and when the wheels were turned the cable stretched and the abs light came on, I gave the cable some more slack and the abs fault is also fixed! I went down to knockhill on Sunday to do a trackday in my dad's track e36 m3, what a machine it is! It was a lot faster than I thought it would be and the brakes were incredible

All in all a great weekend and I am back to loving my car until the next problem with it
