Bonnet won't close, argh!

So, had a bulb out today, opened the bonnet to have a look, closed it again and it's not locking shut! It's closing down to the point where the 2nd hook is in, so it won't fly open, but it won't lock shut. Anyone had this before? The cable seems to be running freely enough.

Have you checked that you've not left anything under the bonnet, other than that you could try adjusting it. On the actual pin, the one that has the spring round it, is Has a slotted at the end, use a screwdriver to turn it anti clockwise, you'll need to do a bit of trial and error to get the gap right

As in on the bonnet? I'll give that a bash. I've cleaned and wd40'd it, managed up finally get it closed too. I'm now scared to open it, can't be assed with that again!! I'll get it opened up tomorrow and see whats what. Cheers for the help folks!

I have this currently with mine. Except the other way around, when you pull the release catch it doesn't pop up. You have to prise the bonnet open with your fingers. Needs a new bottom plate assembly apparently. The WD40 and not closing trick I did a few months back, so it seems it's a progressive fault.

Had the same problem with mine last month.
I ended up buying a new latch because the old one was really seized.
But the bonnet still wouldn't shut properly.
There is adjustment on the bracket thing the latch is bolted to, loosen the 2 screws and you can move the whole thing up a couple of mm. retighten and the bonnet locked perfectly. :)
