Hi Guys.

I will try keep it update with its current spec and work done, where and who I got the stuff from and where I can will post the prices part no etc

You will find the spec etc in the second posting of this thread .

Looks a nice motor buddy, love the colour. I may be slightly biased but some polished deep dish wheels would set it off

Nice mate.

Looks very similar to how mine was. Good to see a LeMans blue with black kidney grills - been thinking of changing them but weirdly like the chrome on the 130i!

How did the gearbox mounts work out for you? Make much difference to shift feel and cabin noise/vibration over OEM?

Marc
The gear change is vastly improved ! Although all the work was done at the same time, weighted gear knob probably made the biggest difference there ! The only downside side is the cabin noise has increased but am used to it now so don't notice it as much !

Small update :
Car had her mot, passed no problems!
Had the rear brake disks and pads done ! M-tec disks yellow stuff pads !
Was hoping to get the braided lines done and new fluid at the same time. However fluids arrived no problem, lines didn't arrive in time so was annoyed especially as I had ordered them 6 weeks before mot was due!

Might have to get me a weighted gear knob as well then. I've got the BMW SSK and a fresh CDV waiting to be fitted, still mulling over whether I should get the mounts done as well. I'm leaning towards the M3 OEM ones.

What about the clutch stop? Never come across that before. I was under the assumption it's good practice to fully press the clutch pedal all the way to the floor before doing a gear change (obviously skip that advice when having some fun :D )

Jonwilli has one sounded worth a go cost peanuts! Still to be fitted !
I believe mine are the M3 E46 spec , same as on Jon's car . Haven't driven it in anger much since then !

Where did you order your brake lines from?

I paid just under ÂŁ120 for a full set of Hel braided lines from Helperformance.com with lifetime warranty. Arrived in 3 days.

Car is looking good. How about Led Darklines to modernise the rear? I'm planning on doing that next year. Cotswold quoted ÂŁ336 for the kit including wiring. They'll need coding too.
They Goodridge brake lines, paid about the same I think ! They said that Goodridge had to make them , then 1st set got lost in the post bla bla , can't remember the name of the company will have to find the invoice!

Led Darklines : I'm not sure, I don't mind the rears to much ! Especially since I tinted them red not so in your face bright ! If I'm honest I would rather spend the money elsewhere for now !

Want to get plugs , coils , vanos , water pump and thermostat done in the 1st half of the new year!
More for total peace of mind than anything else!

Then finish the suspension and Lsd ! Would be a great year on the car !

Not much happening with the car at the mo !
Just had my usual early year oil change gone with the 5w40, castrol . Coolant change and spark plugs changed !
Ordered a new rear wiper motor as that packed up this week !
Need to respray the bonnet as has 2 areas where the clear lacquer has come off super annoying! Money I could have spent elsewhere! Frustrating!

Enjoyed your write up. When you got your new cdv did you need to alter it or did it come ready. Have a 130i so i have taken on board your upgrades.

Hi .
Bought a new one and removed the little piece in the middle that restricts the fluid. There is a how to do it somewhere on here !

Just buy one from BMW over here it's so easy to modify takes about 10 seconds ! Don't waste your money on one from the states
