Hi All,

Am getting ready to place an order for a 1-series coupe (123d msport) - spent plenty of time on the car configurator to get my spec right.

I'm going to be part-exchanging a Mini Cooper - Just wondering - do they take the PX car straight away and give you a loaner while you way for your order, or do they let you hold onto your PX car until the delivery of your new one?

M

Have just got back from North Oxford BMW where I've sneaked a peek at my new car in the compound. Sorry about the quality of the piccies but it was just starting to sleet as I got the camera out.

Really pleased with it - very unassuming :D but with twin-turbo goodness under the bonnet

Now just want the next 5 weeks to fly by until delivery on 26th March.

Is that a 123d under there? I like that spec very much - very stealthy.

Yup - 123d in 'plain-Jane' spec. If you look at the exhaust it's black-chrome - a tell~tail it's a 123d. Was tempted to have them put a 116d badge on the back for a bit of fun.

Has the sports suspension and same size tyres as the Msport (the reason I specc'ed the 142 alloys) so the handling should be the same as it's Msport siblings too. Should give one or two hot hatch drivers a shock when a base model 1 Series gives them a run for their money

Did you compare the two set-ups before buying? Having a dilemma over which to go for. Liked the 120d Sport I test drove (standard suspension I think) - so not sure whether to go for Msport suspension or not - don't want it too hard...

I only tried a 123d Msport prior to ordering so that I could see if I enjoyed the ride/ handling of the Msport suspension and wider tyres. Fell in love with the handling (anything is better than my softly sprung Audi A6), didn't find it too hard, so ordered this set-up. Didn't go for the full Msport experience, partly on cost and partly on the grounds that I prefer the 'sleeper' look of a normal 123d 8)

Looking good loving the stealth look B_T_S. Congratulations

Looks in better state than my car which is at the dealers. Mine looks like it was driven over from Germany!!

Look forward to seeing some pics of it once you get it.

Regards

When's yours due to go on the road? :)

As for the stealth look - should be nearly as much understated fun as my Mk3 Golf which according to the badge was a TDi (90BHP) but infact was a genuine 2.8 litre VR6 (putting out 190BHP). Even the Spax fast road suspension ran at stock height to keep everything looking normal. Stealth fun at it's best!
