I agree with this. I thought long and hard about getting an A3 Sportback. It's an attractive package. I didn't consider the current 5 door 1 series as it seems a little too compromised as a family car - thought I might as well have the coupe if I was going to compromise anyway.
If the new one looks like an X1 I won't be getting any of them. Pig ugly. Worrying as the competition from the East improves. Anyone seen that new Kia Sportage? Really not bad looking inside and out.
