I still think they should be a bit bolder in differentiating between the 3 & 5 door. Make the 5 door a 'Touring' version, a foot or so longer so that it provides the versatility needed by small families etc who don't want to step up to a 3 Series Touring. Then make the 3 door more focussed on those for whom space is not the primary concern. Audi, Reuault, Mercedes have all gone down this route.

I agree with this. I thought long and hard about getting an A3 Sportback. It's an attractive package. I didn't consider the current 5 door 1 series as it seems a little too compromised as a family car - thought I might as well have the coupe if I was going to compromise anyway.

If the new one looks like an X1 I won't be getting any of them. Pig ugly. Worrying as the competition from the East improves. Anyone seen that new Kia Sportage? Really not bad looking inside and out.

Hard to tell whether or not its going to be 'ugly' because of the vinyl..

Only 'nice' change i see from those pictures are the indicator lights on the wing mirrors! VW Golfs already have them. :D

If it looks like this http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/crop/2 ... 460x0w.jpg, then maybe BMW will get away with it!

HOLD ON YOU LOT take another look at the pics closely. Have you seen the size of the brakes? they are HUGE they could stop a house. i'll put money on it that this is a full fat turboed 6. those are 208 alloys of the e87. and i really hope they take a leaf out the bangle book and use the older styling cues from the E60 the first Z4 the 6 series and the x6. as imo the new models like the new 5 and 7 which look the same and the x1 all look like they have run into a wall they have horrid flat noses and kidney grills that are far to big. the 5 and 7 look the same. the only new style bmw i like is the new Z4. i think they dropped a clanger getting shot of bangle all his cars were great imo. but if they make a turbo six in the 5 door hatch i'll be first in line :D proper wolf in sheeps clothing

I'll wait until I see one in full M-Sport trim.

Think I have already asked this question on another thread that I lost track of - so apologies if it has already been answered.

Will there be a new model / facelift 2011 Coupe and hatchback model? I'm particularly interested in the coupe answer.
