BMW 1 Series

Couple of observations:

- Inner lights seem mounted higher than outer pair.
- Grille is deep and mounted lower than the lights - bit like the X1?
- I'm a bit worried about how the front end is going to look as a result.
- the whole car looks a bit tall and under-wheeled.

its hard to tell with all that wall paper all over it !!

Its looks abit more styled like a cirocco shape ----- runs for cover

whats with the dual single pipes out the back, they have gone all audi A3 on us (lets stick dual exhausts on all our 1.9/2.0 ltr tdi cars because it will make them go faster).

hope that's a range topping petrol in the pics and not a derv with dual pipes. now that would be wrong.

I dont like their new painting scheme makes my eyes hurt.

the window on the front doors looks very small - with a huge distance to the back of the car - might mean a much bigger boot though.

It looks like the X1:

Without the roof bars, shallower arches, much lower, different bumpers, but I suspect the chassis, front and overall look will be very similar, with a rear quarter window behind the rear windows.

Oooohhhh! I hope when they take all the camouflage off it still doesn’t look like a mini estate! The backs looks similar to a Volvo C30. It just looks really high off the ground and agree with the comment about the front looking like a X1.

Anyone here starting to think we have the best looking generation of 1’ners to date?

the engine line-up looks utter bollocks. looks like they're going the way of VAG. a straight-six better be available.

The internals of the rear lights look circular. Null points!

Hard to say really. Looks a bit turd sitting high on the springs like that and the vinyl distorts your perception so much. I was hoping they'd really go all out and give the 1er a stylish makeover.. not so sure that's going to happen from these shots. I'm sure it'll look better than these pics make us think though

Come on BMW!

Spare the 1 series from the mentally challenged designers who created the X6 and Shooting Brake 3 series!

Also, a lot of BMWs of late take a bit of time to 'warm' to.

I still think they should be a bit bolder in differentiating between the 3 & 5 door. Make the 5 door a 'Touring' version, a foot or so longer so that it provides the versatility needed by small families etc who don't want to step up to a 3 Series Touring. Then make the 3 door more focussed on those for whom space is not the primary concern. Audi, Reuault, Mercedes have all gone down this route.
