I'm interested to find out what mileage you guys are getting? I reset my mpg counter about two weeks ago and after two weeks of driving (around town, no motorway mile) it's settled at 34.4mpg. Is this about right?

Thanks

Was around 44 mpg before the remap, now it's settled at 46.1

This is on a FL 118d with an equal mix of town/country (but not much motorway) driving.

47mpg from my 2008 remapped 118d

Not impressed, my old remapped 330d auto with 300bhp did 38mpg, same journeys

Doing a mixture of driving I average 47 - 52mpg.

Motorway only for 700 miles I averaged 56.5mpg.

If i only do about town driving then the lowest I see is 43mpg.

Yours seems very low!

I also have a pre-FL.

"Microlite" had similar post last week and he did only 28 in his pre face lift 120d. But he lives in North London and probably never gets constant running conditions, but it was claimed by one technician that ditching the run flats would get much better results.

The pre face lift auto's were very poor on fuel consumption, my 120d managed 33mpg and we live in a fairly quiet area, no hills(these are killers on the fuel consumption) or traffic problems. Our 123d is averaging 42 for similar conditions (with run flats), I would say if your driving is irregular stop/start then probably as good as it gets, especially if the loud peddle is stepped on all the time accelerating and the heavy braking, but if not and doing nice steady runs then may be worth getting the car checked, remapping may also help.

Just reset my 2007 post-FL 118d M-sport before driving Norway-Spain and back a couple weeks ago; returned a stable 44,8 mpg (at an avg. speed of 64 mph).
Usually, with short trips and city driving, it can get as "bad" as around 34 mpg. Nowhere near what BMW claims, but then again I rarely make an effort of driving very economically. Also, I'd suppose the wide 18" wheels may have an impact on fuel consumption, even though I try to keep them properly inflated at all times.

Mine is a 2006 re-mapped 118d done 107,000 miles. Over the last 5000 miles (since I've owned it) I've generally got on average 42Mpg (measured accurately by filling up tank every time), the trip computer is a bit optimistic, usually indicates around 44mpg. My journeys are mostly around town, lots of traffic lights etc, some motorway.... Anyway, consistently over 40mpg. I've seen well over 50mpg on full motorway trips, no problem.

I borrowed a new 59 plate manual 118d a while back and over the 2 days I had it got 62mpg for motorway use (about 400 miles worth of motorways) .... the same journey in my 320d auto gets me 44mpg.

Around town that would not surprise me. If you look at your spot mileage, it will not get into the higher numbers. Low gears, short journeys, you are doing OK.

Avg 48.7 over last 24.000mls, combination of town and motorway.

Checked the car yesterday on a run from Glasgow to Dundee, all motorway or dual carriageway, sitting at an average of 75mph on the clock and got an average of 55.4mpg, well chuffed for that speed.
