Isn't it illegal to fit xenons to a car unless it has a headlamp wash system fitted?

As if a copper is going to spot that you dont have washers when the lights are on :P

Will it fail an MOT cos of it though?

My understanding has always been that it would fail an MoT unless you have a very friendly tester.

I looked into xenon kits for my Z1 and the 500E I used to own. I was told it was ok for the Merc as it already had headlamp wipers but not for the Z1 as it didn't.

Hasn't stopped some Z1 owners doing it but I settled for those brighter vision+ bulbs, which did make a noticeable difference.

also you should have auto levelling, plus a HID bulb in a reflector housing is also not road legal.

These points have been covered many times on previous posts, but heres my say.

Yes it will fail a MOT because of no self levellers, headlamp washers or projection lenses.

I have never heard of anyone being prosecuted for fitting them aftermarket, has anyone else.

The bulbs supplied with these are designed for reflector lenses so should give an even pattern of light.

It will take ten minutes to change back to H7 halogens prior to MOT test.

Im not sure about the second statement as I thought some OEM HIDs use reflector housings?

i think the people who are interested in the HID's understand that there are a lot of HID haters on this forum and all the points that are mentioned about self leveling and washers have been covered a thousand times in other topics

i had them on my last car 307cc with no auto leviling went through an mot with flying volours also got hids on the 1er and the auto leveling still works when you turn the ignition on these are hid kits there almost as good as proper xennon lights and also theres nothing wrong with my beam patter either

my mrs has a 206cc with them on it and it passed its mot last week with no problems

Just emailed their customer care dept. Going to try and haggle the price down a bit because if they do work I am sure a few of the forum members will buy them :?:
